The Future is Now - Future Proofing Teaching and Learning for a Just Transition

Muinín CATALYST Sustainable STEAM

MCSS will work with 16 schools to beta test an agile response to augmenting and transitioning the Irish senior cycle with 21st Century future-ready skills based towards a curriculum for all. Recent employment and skills research identifies future growth areas requiring ICT and strategic, product and digital design skills as necessary (NSS 2025, EGFSN, 2020; DES, 2015 ).

Maine Valley STEAM Programme

STEAM Tasters

We worked with Maine Valley to deliver 7 taster workshops with over 100 children from 3 - 14 years in 3D printing, design, virtual reality and develop a 12 week programme based on the interests and desires for their teen club.

Teen Tech Club

Working with Maine Valley Family Resource Centre we meet with up to 15 young people age 10 - 15 years working on tech-related projects.  The aim is to build skills, confidence and competence in 21st century skills using design and technology. This included digital storytelling, film-making, circuitry and digital film-making.

STEAM 4 Sustainability 

S4S Why Stop at Cop - Tooling up for the 21st Century is a collaboration with Bianca Peel Consulting and Stirling Arts, Scotland. 

 

An invitation to a year-long learning event that begins deliberately post - COP and kicking-off 

with the Problem to PItch challenge

Clár Include Labs

INCLUDE Learning Lab brings together local organisations, community groups and a state of the art international research lab with 30 years ICT inclusive education to deliver a series of innovation training intensives and regular innovation cafes for focused youth and community education and training in 21st Century skills (VR, AR and AI; Enterprise and Innovation, 3D Printing and Place-based STEAM education).

Catalysing biodiversity 

Catalysing Biodiversity is part of our ongoing Seeding Sustainability programme at Coláiste na Sceilge, with Mr. Francis Courtney to create a 1.8KM Health and Well-being trail on the school grounds.

Muinín CATALYST was funded by Living Iveragh, a philanthropic organisation keen to promote learning and research in S. Kerry and Anne Heraty, CPL plc, Ireland's largest recruitment company, to continue our research and look at the opportunities and obstacles to learning within the Transition year.
